The Traffic Division has the highest volume of caseload of all the departments. Citations written by police departments within the court's jurisdiction citing a violation of the Michigan Vehicle Code, statute or local misdemeanor ordinances are filed with the Court. After key data has been taken from the ticket and typed into the court's computer system, the ticket is processed according to a prescribed time guideline. Failure to respond to a ticket may result in suspension of driving privileges and/or issuance of an arrest bench warrant.
